Awards and Fellowships

 

Marylee Hardenbergh has received numerous awards including Fellowships from the NEA, McKnight and Soros Foundations. She is an Artist-in-Residence at the Center for Global Environmental Education at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Dance Magazine has highlighted her work in two articles (1996 and 2006). Her choreography constitutes a chapter in Site Dance: Choreographers and the Lure of Alternative Spacespublished by the University of Florida in 2009, and her chapter entitled “Global Water Dances: Embodying water solutions” in Emergent Possibilities in Global Sustainability demonstrates dance inspiring local communities (Routledge, 2016).  She has been voted “Artist of the Year” twice in City Pages, a Twin Cities magazine, and last year received the 2015 Marian Chace Foundation award, delivering the keynote speech to the American Dance Therapy Association conference She serves on the board of Global Water Dances, where she was Artistic Director from 2009-2015.
