Participate in an Art Contest!

The Park Rapids Lakes Area Arts Council (PRLAAC) invites artists to enter works reflecting the spirit of the One River Mississippi performance arts event.

Entries should draw attention to our Itasca Mississippi Headwaters site, but also may portray the free-flowing existence of the river and the connection with communities downstream.

Two cash prizes will be awarded: $50 for the winner in the youth category and $100 for the winner in the adult category.  In addition, the winning works will be framed for display at the Mary Gibbs Visitor Center in Itasca State Park to commemorate the One River Mississippi event.  Prizes will be awarded at the Visitor Center as part of the One River Mississippi pre-performance event the evening of Saturday June 24.

The deadline for entries is May 15.  All artists entering their works will be asked to sign a release.  Detailed information about the contest, how to enter and the release form are available at the Park Rapids Enterprise, 401 Henrietta Blvd., and the Park Rapids Lakes Area Chamber Office on Hwy 71.
